• Founded in 1884, Flushing Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) in Flushing, Queens is a community hospital where I serve as Attending Physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Today, FHMC is a 299-bed voluntary, not-for-profit teaching hospital located in New York City’s most culturally diverse borough. I enjoy working in this challenging environment, which encompasses a culturally diverse community. Emergency medicine has become my passion.

I have the distinct honor & privilege of serving as On-Line Medical Control Physician in the Department’s Bureau of Emergency Medical Service’s Office of Medical Affairs.

Having primary responsibilities in law enforcement and investigation within the five boroughs of New York City, the NYPD is the largest municipal police force in the United States. In October 2013, I achieved a lifelong dream, when Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly appointed me as Honorary Police Surgeon.

  • Working collaboratively with prehospital emergency care providers & their agencies, to help assure the highest quality of emergency care is available to those who need it, has been of specific interest to me. My professional goal over the next several years is to support my regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) community in the provision of high quality patient care through collaborative educational programming, medical direction, communications, consultation & research.

  • Disaster medicine is the area of physician medical specialization serving the dual areas of providing health care to disaster survivors & providing medically related disaster preparation, disaster planning, disaster response & disaster recovery leadership throughout the disaster life cycle. Over the next several years, my professional goal is obtain further knowledge & proficiency in this discipline.

  • Improving & protecting the health & safety of fire, EMS & law enforcement personnel by providing specialized medical, fitness & psychological evaluations is of great interest to me. I plan to broaden my knowledge in this subspecialty of occupational medicine.
